About this event

Join us to hear from Vanessa Green Sinders, President & CEO of the Indiana Chamber of Commerce

About Vanessa Green Sinders:

Vanessa Green Sinders made history on January 5, 2024, as the first female president and CEO of the Indiana Chamber of Commerce. With a career defined by strategic collaboration, policy expertise and advocacy, and a deep commitment to community engagement, Vanessa leads the Indiana Chamber with a clear mission: to drive Indiana’s economic growth and ensure the state remains a top destination to live, work and do business.

Strategic Vision: Under Vanessa’s leadership, the Indiana Chamber has embraced a bold, forward-thinking approach to advocacy, member engagement and strategic partnerships. Guided by the Chamber’s long-term economic roadmap, Indiana Prosperity 2035, she has positioned the organization as a thought leader, convener, and partner to both the Governor and the state Legislature.

In 2025, the Indiana Chamber achieved significant legislative victories, including business personal property tax relief and initiatives to improve workforce health through increased cigarette taxes, that resulted in the highest-ever annual return on investment for employers. Vanessa’s statewide listening tour helps ensure the Chamber remains responsive to member needs, delivering high-impact services and fostering meaningful connections across industries and regions.

Innovative Engagement:  Vanessa has expanded the Indiana Chamber’s convening power, launching a new Small Business Council and hosting targeted, regional roundtables for CEOs, CFOs and HR leaders. She also reimagined the Chamber Day at the Statehouse, transforming it into a collaborative event with local chamber executives and spotlighting small businesses through the inaugural Small Business of the Year awards.

Those efforts brought together over 300 employers and leaders from nearly 50 local chambers to engage directly with lawmakers on the policies shaping Indiana’s business climate.

Recognition and Influence: Vanessa has been named to the Indianapolis Business Journal’s “250 List of Most Influential Business Leaders” for two consecutive years, a testament to her impact and leadership across the state.

Background and Experience: After 20 years in Washington, D.C., at the center of politics and power, Vanessa moved to Indiana with her family. She founded Green Sinders Consulting, a woman-led firm offering strategic advice, project execution and crisis management, and leadership development and coaching services to clients.

Her corporate experience includes serving as senior vice president of government affairs at Charter Communications/Spectrum, where she led federal policy engagement with Congress and the White House. Prior to that, she held the same role at the American Hotel & Lodging Association, overseeing advocacy at all levels of government.

Vanessa’s public service career includes senior roles on Capitol Hill, including chief of staff to U.S. Senator Scott Brown and policy director for U.S. Senator Judd Gregg. She also served as chief of staff for the Campaign to Fix the Debt, a bipartisan coalition focused on fiscal reform. Vanessa holds a bachelor’s degree in government with a minor in economics from Dartmouth College. She now resides in Indianapolis with her husband, a Clay County native, and their two sons

All chamber members and non-members are invited to attend.
