About the speakers:
Chief Carter started his fire service career with Jackson Township 27 years ago. Over those years he has been an integral part of turning what was a small volunteer fire department into a full-time career department with some of the highest trained fire fighters and medics in the County. Chief Carter is committed to our community and the mission of Jackson Fire to build and maintain a professional organization based on our core values and to remain a progressive and innovative fire department that ensures a safe community.
Robyn Cook has served as Trustee for Jackson Township since 2019. She has worked in local government for 24 years and is well versed in public safety, capital projects, operations, utilities, human resources, and municipal accounting. Some of her duties as Trustee include the administration of Township assistance and overseeing all aspects of the Fire Department. Robyn has lived in Jackson Township for, let’s just say several decades, and has a heart for public service and the community.
Todd Burtron is a member of the Taft Public Affairs Strategy Group as Director or Public Affairs. He focuses his practice on municipal and private sector clients seeking partnerships and project support. Todd has a professional public service portfolio spanning more than 30-years ranging from public safety to executive administration. Recently retiring from public service Todd served as Chief of Staff / Deputy Mayor Todd where he helped lead the aggressive transformation of the City of Westfield, Indiana. Todd has amassed significant experiences and accomplishments which include economic development, operations, public policy, public safety, and public-private partnerships. Included in these accomplishments is a portfolio of economic development projects totaling nearly half-billion dollars. Recognized as a strong, compassionate, and driven leader, Todd has a passionate focus of leadership development and using his experiences to unlock the talent of others. Todd holds undergraduate degrees in public safety, business management and a graduate degree in management and leadership. Currently Todd is pursuing a Doctor of Jurisprudence (JD) at the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. Todd and Tami – his bride of 31 years – have two young adult children.
Bruce Knott is a longtime Hamilton County resident and currently lives in Cicero, Indiana. Bruce is currently the Safety and Prevention Associate at Beck’s Hybrids. Bruce has a longtime history of serving his community in roles such as the Hamilton County Sheriff Deputy (1997), and retiring from the Carmel Fire Department, Division Chief (2019).
