The 15h Annual Carmel Education Foundation (CEF) Ghosts and Goblins 5k/2k will kick off at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at Carmel High School. Costume judging, a photo booth, team pictures, music, the National Anthem and a race warm-up will lead up to the start of the 2k at 9:00 am followed by the 5k at 9:10 am. The family friendly event is open to all community members. Participants can choose a 5K or 2K timed course. Both courses start and end at Carmel High School at 520 E. Main Street, Carmel, IN, 46032 and wind through neighborhoods near the school. Strollers are welcome but pets need to stay home for their safety, as well as all race-goers. Costumes that are school friendly and allow for easy movement and sight are welcome and encouraged- there are even prizes for individuals, pairs and teams!

Individual registration is $40 (age 5+) and Carmel Clay Schools (CCS) students are $20 through October 6, 2023. Prices increase to $50 ($25 CCS student) between October 7 and October 19, 2023. Commemorative 15th year shirts are available for pre-order in short or long sleeve options through October 9, 2023. CEF board member Leslie Teskey, a CCS alumna and former Cross-Country runner, is serving her third year as event chair. Teskey continues to enjoy the sport while balancing a career as a Managing Principal with Cresa Indianapolis, volunteering, and raising a family.

Christine Daviduke, Carmel Clay Schools 2023 Teacher of the Year will kick off the race. A special thank you to Joe’s Butcher Shop for donating water and to Needler’s Fresh Market for donating fruit for all 

event guests. Additionally, Indie Coffee Roasters and the Carmel High School Culinary Department will have coffee, hot chocolate and other breakfast items for purchase.
