OneZone Chamber of Commerce recently released its Business Excellence Awards winners. Carmel resident Brian Millis won the Emerging Leader award and will be recognized with the other award winners during a luncheon at 11 a.m. Jan. 26 at 502 East Event Centre in Carmel.
“We are excited to highlight Brian as our emerging leading award winner,” OneZone President Jack Russell said. “Brian has made a great impact not only for his company but on the community as well.”
Millis is the vice president of sales and marketing at ADVISA, a business management consultant in Carmel. He oversees all efforts to market and generate revenue from the company’s current and prospective client base.
“I’m humbled and grateful to the A-Team for nominating me for this award,” Millis said. “I’m lucky for the opportunity to lead within such a positive, magnetic culture at ADVISA. I understand the importance of living our values and serving as an example for our clients on how an intentional culture can be built and protected through effective leadership. Thank you to the A-Team and to our many clients who trust ADVISA as their leadership effectiveness partner.”
Millis’ leadership skills don’t stop at ADVISA. Outside of work, Millis is a family man and loves spending time with his wife and their three daughters. Also, he said he’s very passionate about the Children’s Bureau + Families First agency. He leads in other ways, too.
“I spearhead our ADVISA corporate partnership and was a former young professional advisory board participant,” Millis said. “In addition to our corporate commitment, my family enjoys sponsoring families in need during the holidays and helping the Children’s Bureau in any way we can.”
Millis serves on the alumni advisory council for Camp Tecumseh YMCA out of Brookston, Indiana.
“This is an incredible place that’s very special to me and where I worked as a camp counselor for many years after attending the camp as a child,” Millis said. “The Indy alumni advisory council is focused on continuing to build relationships among former leaders from Camp Tecumseh and generate support to allow the camp to provide the incredible services that they bring to thousands of kids every year.”
In his free time, Millis enjoys playing competitive pickleball and recently participated in several tournaments.
