HEPL has a vacancy for a full-time (40 hours/week) Facilities Assistant to work primarily out of our Fishers branch. This position will be posted internally and externally. The starting rate for this position is $15.72-17.09 per hour (negotiable based on experience). Must be able to work primarily evenings and every other weekend.
Responsibilities for the Facilities Assistant position include:
Responsible for assisting the Director of Facilities with services and maintenance including, but not limited to: landscaping, HVAC and boilers, elevator, building cleaning, carpet and furniture cleaning, parking lot sealing and striping, fire alarm testing, security system testing and monitoring, security cameras, snow removal, trash removal, fire extinguishers, backflow testing and irrigation systems.
Inspects, troubleshoots, diagnoses and monitors facilities operating systems for equipment failure or any other problems.
Services, assembles, and disassembles, and/or repairs library equipment as needed, including preventative maintenance with Director of Facilities approval.
Meets with/checks in with vendors engaged in equipment installation, facilities equipment repair and preventative maintenance.
Contacts vendors if services are needed and reports any issues or concerns.
Completes set up of meeting rooms for scheduled events as needed.
Collects and transfers library materials between library locations.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience:
Associate’s degree in facilities management or a related field from an accredited college or trade school preferred.
Six months of related experience is required.
Previous customer service experience is preferred.
