WHAT YOU WILL DO

Assist with maintaining established departmental policies and procedures, objectives and quality improvement, safety, and environmental and infection control standards.
Monitor biological and chemical wash solution to ensure quality and consistency for decontamination of instruments and medical equipment.
Decontaminate and sterilize instruments, assemble, wrap, and sterilize trays of instruments.
Sort sets of instruments, trays and make them available to sterile processing customers in a timely manner.
Monitor inventory levels of required instruments, trays, restock, label, and maintain inventory levels.

WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED

Prior sterile processing experience.
Knowledge of surgical instrumentation, supplies, equipment, sterilizers and sterilization.
Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) standards knowledge.
Knowledge of biohazard waste procedures and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Standard Precautions.
Adapt and respond quickly to changing priorities.
Prioritize and delegate tasks.
Work independently with minimal supervision.
Inventory management systems knowledge.
Working knowledge of sterilization equipment.
Knowledge of sterilization monitoring, record keeping and quality assurance protocols.

Qualifications:

Associate’s Degree Preferred
High School Diploma/GED Required and
2+ years Sterile Processing experience preferred
Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST). Required
