Community raises $700K+ and Carmel Swim Club adds $635K to support new facility

CARMEL, INDIANA – Carmel Swim Club (CSC) is proud to announce that construction of the new Carmel Swim Academy facility is complete. There will be a ribbon cutting and open house for the pool in July. The facility is located at 830 City Center Drive in Carmel, on the west side of the Carmel Total Fitness building.

Construction on the new facility started in 2021. The Carmel Swim Academy was inspired by the need for families in the area to have a safe place to learn lifelong skills, such as water safety, swimming competency, and the value of wellness. Carmel Swim Academy’s training pool has six 25-yard swimming lanes, and there is also an attached shallow-water instructional area. The facility includes a mezzanine where parents can watch swim lessons, as well as family-friendly locker rooms.

“We are thrilled to open the Carmel Swim Academy this summer,” said Carmel Swim Club Head Coach and CEO Chris Plumb. “The Carmel community is passionate about swimming, but didn’t have a centralized, dedicated space where people could learn and grow into strong swimmers. We know more than half of Americans lack basic swimming skills, so we want to use our incomparable expertise to empower people to feel confident in the water – no matter how old or young they are.”

The Carmel community supported construction of the new facility by raising more than $700,000 in donations for the building. The Carmel Swim Club also provided $635,000 to support the new construction.

“The Carmel Swim Academy is intended to be for the community, so it means the world to know how much people in Carmel have already supported us before we officially open our doors,” said Carmel Swim Club Director of Business Development Maggie Mestrich.
